The looper level fade in and out is set in the global parameters menu to either fade in/out, only in or only out. The bypass level is, I think, pretty spot on here with numerous different guitars and amps and effects. too much wet level at 100%? Then use the secondary function of the Mix knob again to set the available effect volume to lower than max. dry volume is same as bypass until about noon on the dial, fully clockwise is all wet level. 4.6K views 2 years ago modularsynth Blooper eurorack Time to get a little weird In order to get acquainted with my Hologram Electronics Microcosm, I wanted to experiment with giving it some. Use the secondary Mix knob function (which is GLOBAL) to raise effect level available to max, then use mix knob to taste.
BLOOPER VS MICROCOSM FULL
I will just chime in here as a user voice to maybe pause some worry - full disclosure, I made that first "non-demo" that appeared, and I did some consulting/testing work on the unit pre-release, but I am NOT an employee of Hologram.Īnywho - I have not experienced ANY volume issues whatsoever and, assuming units are working correctly, don't see what the problem would be. Functionally it's kind of like having a multi-fx and looper in a ab/ba switcher.ĭefinitely room for both and valid preferences either way.ĭisclosure - I've done work for CBA, but I'm a big fan of both companies. There is a much wider variety of fx, and they are more along the lines of a IJ, Particle, etc., oriented towards real-time use on a dry signal. IMO microcosm is at its heart a multi-effect that incorporates a basic looper. The repeats function allows it to behave as a delay + fx, but the effects can't be applied to the dry signal. And there is a much deeper control of the looping (multiple layers of undo/redo, recording effects to the loop). microcosm thing, they are pretty different - at least considering the fact that they both inhabit the relatively narrow "looper + effects" niche.īlooper is at its heart a looper, with effects that are primarily oriented towards manipulating the loop itself (e.g., changing the loop speed, length, re-ordering the loop contents, dropping sections of the loop). I emailed Hologram and they got back pretty quick saying you have to re-adjust the fade time after changing the shape, but that didn't actually fix it for me. Has anyone tried the different loop fade options? Mine always fades in & out, regardless of the fade shape setting. Interested if the factory reset has changed that for anyone else having that issue?Ģ. I'm also having volume issues, both with triggering effects and overall wet volume being low.
